last weekend, i just bought some air-dry clay from a craft store in Ikano. i wanted to buy polymer clay but they dont sell them there. i watched videos on Youtube.. they make miniatures and sculpturesusing polymer clay.. i know some of the polymer clay brands which are Scupey III , Fimo Soft and Premo. i read forums about where can i get the polymer clays and some of them said at craft haven in one utama's old wing.. some said toys r us.. and some said ikano.. :) and some other shopping malls.. btw, i bought pink, yellow, white and brown air-dry clay. its called yenji :) they were RM12 per packet.. i think its worth it because it had lots of them in each plastic. :) i bought 5 eye pins
and 5 phone straps..
after i went out of the store, i saw ANOTHER craft store beside it. i went in and looked around.. they sell kinda alot of clay too.. and craft tools. i looked on a shelf and found SCULPEY III Clay! and i was like "OMG!! I want that one.. :(" . so i flipped it over and looked at the price .. it was .. .. RM9! OMG! The packet was like so small and its RM9?! and they were not many selection of colours.. they only had brown for sculpey III... and some pink and other colours for some random brands that i dont know XP but i really wanted that.. but its okay.. i think air dry clay is better because i dont have to get my mom to bake it! polymer clay requires baking.. :P and if i buy polymer clay, and made a cute lil miniature cupcake, try to bake it.. AND IT BURNS! gahh.. what a waste of time .. :P
so i got back home and asked my mom for a smooth and clean tile.. my mom looked in the store and grabbed a white piece of tile with some dots on top and wiped it with a clean cloth.. so, i put all my clays in an airtight container so it doesnt dry and all my tools in a stationery box that i've made with my mom.
the tools i use is a blade that i bought from HBA Bookstore to cut my clay, scissors to cut too.., painbrushes to make donut holes, multi purpose glue to glue my miniatures of course, cotton buds to put glue onto the air-dry clay, small cloths to wipe off the clay out of my tools, a tile to make my miniatures, a wooden roller to roll my clay, a needle to make holes and plastic cling wrap. :)
i've made some miniatures like strawberry cupcakes, a slice of raspberry cake, a lemon biscuit and a original vanilla biscuit.. the biscuit looks yummy! but the strawberry cupcakes look like pink poop on top of a brown base? LOL! raspberry cake didnt turn out well.. cuz i used silver balls and rainbow balls that is supposed to be used on REAL foods and they melted.. :'(
my miniature vanilla and lemon biscuits :)
i planned to make so many more miniatures out of my air-dry
